Fraser Island is strictly four-wheel-driving territory, with Seventy-Five Mile Beach that runs up the surf side of the island being an actual highway. Four-wheel-drives share the highway with light aircraft making joy flights. Sand tracks cross the island linking lakes, rainforests and historical sites on the Island. Driving conditions can vary with weather and tides. Speed limits range from 30kmh on inland roads and 80kmh on the Seventy-Five Mile Beach Highway, with normal road rules applying.
