You’re on board a 20 metre ocean-going catamaran that will handle the generally calm waters of Hervey Bay with ease. Join us, settle back and relax as the
M.V. Mikat takes you from the Great Sandy Straits Marina to Moon Point on Fraser Island, where you will enter the Hervey Bay Marine Park to enjoy your day amongst the Humpback Whales.
After a cup of coffee or tea we will give you an
informative talk about the whales and dolphins you
are about to meet. Not just textbook
information, but very much our own experiences since
1987, the very beginning of whale watching in Hervey
Bay. To see an animal weighing some 45,000 kg or an
equivalent weight of 11 elephants is educational,
breathtaking, entertaining and for some, emotional.
The M.V. Mikat
is a very stable, air conditioned catamaran which
has two superb walk around viewing decks, covered
aft decks and a spacious bow for photography and
filming these magnificent creatures. The comfortable
lounge has a library of whale, dolphin and shark
books and videos of Humpback Whales in Hervey Bay.
